Non-Competitive
Sparkles & Lace

The non-competitive division is a fun and supportive 12+ week long program for girls ages 4-13. Here the focus is working together as a group on a community service project, learning fun dance choreography, making new friends or meeting up again with old ones, working on personal growth, confidence, accountability, problem solving, etc.  via public speaking, leadership, and team building.

There is no competition at all in this division, only fun! The non-competitive girls will be a special part of the opening number, along with the intermission number, during the competitive pageant and will receive a special tiara and sash and are recognized by personal introductions as they  elegantly adorn the stage in their formal dresses on Coronation day. It's truly a magical experience!

Registration for the 2026-2027 Season is

Beyond the Sparkle:

A Path to Leadership

While Sparkles & Lace is a non-competitive division, we are proud to offer a Progressive Leadership Component for girls who want to grow with us year after year. This unique path allows our "Sparkles" to build deep roots in community service and leadership.

Level Up Your Journey: As participants progress through the program, they advance through our designated Team Levels, earning recognition for their continued dedication and growth:

  • Sapphire– Beginning the Journey

  • Emerald – Building Confidence

  • Ruby – Strengthening Service

  • Silver– Developing Leadership

  • Gold – Strengthening Leadership

  • Platinum – Leadership through Royal Titles (Competitive Titleholders)

  •

Diamond – Mastering Mentorship (Royal Ambassadors)

New members begin as Sapphires, and with each year of service and hours of participation, they advance to the next level—unlocking new leadership opportunities along the way!"

It’s more than just a stage—it’s a multi-year experience where your daughter can evolve from a learner into a leader.

Dance Routine

Our choreographer will work with the girls beginning on Day 1 with choreography for the dance number they will perform at the end of the program. No prior dance skills are needed--just a willingness to learn and have fun!

Community Service Project

Our director chooses a THEME each year that is important to the program. She then picks the dance music and the community service project to fit and match with that theme.

Headshots

Headshots are taken of the girls by our program photographer, and then added to the Program Book and also used for Social Media purposes. If you wish your child to be excluded, be sure to let the Director know this ahead of time!

Awards Banquet

A little extra fun to help make the girls feel special is the Awards Banquet we hold right before Coronation Day After 12 weeks of hard work, the girls deserve lots of praise and recognition and we love to give it out!

T-shirts

All Sparkles and Lace participants will receive a T-shirt they will wear in the Yakima Sunfair Parade and for rehearsals, Awards Banquet and any other promotional events.

Parades

The Sparkle and Lace program runs June-September so there is the opportunity to participate in the Yakima Sunfair Parade. In addition, the TEAMS program runs year long so there are many other opportunities to participate as well, including the Christmas parades.

Tiara and Sash

All participants will receive a special tiara, sash, flowers and crown pin on Coronation Day.

Opening Number

All Sparkles and Lace participants will also be in the Opening Number introducing the Glitter and Grace Contestants at the Royalty Pageant.

What you will need to provide....

  • You will need to provide your daughter with a formal dress (and all accessories) to wear on Coronation day

  • You will provide the cost of the costume, shoes, and/or any accessories needed for the dance performed on Coronation Day

  • Your daughter's attendance to all of the rehearsals and events

  • Your daughter and the directors with full support and great attitudes!

"From Shy to Shining"
"When my daughter started as a Sapphire, she was too shy to speak in front of a group. Four years later as a Ruby team member, she is leading community service projects and mentoring younger girls. This program gave her a voice and a sense of purpose."
— Proud Sparkle Mom

"More Than Just a Crown"
"We joined for the fun dresses, but we stayed for the heart. The focus on the SABBY Project and local parades taught my daughter that true beauty comes from serving others. She looks forward to seeing her 'Sparkle Sisters' every single year."
— Sparkle Parent

"Building Lifelong Friendships" "The non-competitive environment is exactly what we needed. My daughter has built genuine friendships with girls from all over Yakima County without the pressure of a typical pageant. Watching her progress through the levels has been a joy!" — Returning Sparkle Family
